Jewelry Designer Anna Sofia Poirier
In 2004, Anna Sofia Poirier began creating her ultra-colorful line of glazed paper jewelry. Sparked by an ongoing passion for paper, pattern, fashion, and color, Anna Sofia Designs was born. Anna handcrafts one-of-a-kind lightweight earrings, bracelets, and necklaces with breathtakingly beautiful papers from Japan, India, and Nepal. Her designs are worn by fabulous women of all ages who like a splash of color with their day. Anna loves creating things with her hands. Over the years she has used her hands to sculpt with polymer clay, illustrate, sew clothing, and create artists' books. In the late 90’s she went on an origami jaunt and got her first real taste of the beauty of Japanese paper. After working with origami paper, she sought out the even more beautiful, sophisticated, colorful artistry of Chiyogami and Katazome-shi paper. Finding new, beautiful paper continues to be the most awesome treasure hunt. Anna draws her inspiration from music, nature, dance, style, and great big bursts of color and pattern. She's a huge fan of all things handmade. Anna lives in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts with her husband and their Maine Coon cat.
